MASTERforge is committed to the development of Eastern sword arts in the West. We believe that sharing our knowledge and encouraging the small sword community to grow will improve our martial arts studies and preserve our ancient traditions.

Our projects include:

Creating the only Chinese Sword Society in the UK.
MASTERforge created the only Chinese Sword Society in the UK to bring together sword enthusiasts. Creating CSS UK also brings a voice and representation to Chinese weapons enthusiasts in the UK.

Developing our Resource Centre
The resource centre was created for the need of our customers. We know our customers want to buy the best swords but often are over whelmed by the depth of knowledge and experience needed to buy a good sword. So we have built a knowledge resource where you can read detailed articles, post questions and speak to members.

MASTERforge promotes the beautiful hand forged swordsmithing of Master Zhou, Zheng Wu. His forge is in the famous LongQuan City located in Zhejiang province, China.

Master Zhou has gained national prestige as being the best traditional swordsmith for the nation of China. Master Zhou Zheng Wu has also gained recognition on a global scale due to his excellent workmanship.

Master Zhou Zheng Wu

1968 Zhou Zheng Wu (Chris Zhou), was born in LongQuan City , Zhejiang Province, China , famous for its sword forging for over 2,500 years. Master Zhou is the curator of the LongQuan Zheng Wu Sword Forging Institute and the LongQuan Sword Museum .

1988 Under his father's instruction Zhou, Zheng Wu started studying the art of forging swords. He has forged swords for Wu Lan Fu, the former Chinese Vice Chairman, and Xi Zhongxun, The Deputy Prime Minister.

2001 Master Zhou, Zheng Wu was awarded the professional title of Arts and Crafts Master for Zhejiang Province by Zhejiang Government.

2002 Master Zhou, Zheng Wu founded the Zheng Wu Sword Forging Institute, where he regularly lectures.

2003 Awarded the Silver Prize by the Chinese Arts Association.

2004 Founded the LongQuan Sword Museum . Awarded the Arts and Crafts Fine Work Prize and Excellence Prize for the Zhejiang Pro 2005. He has participated in the Chinese folk Arts and Crafts Exhibition and was awarded the Prize of the Work of Nature.

Masters of Fire Exhibition 15/10/2005-15/1/2006

International Exhibition of Contemporary Blade Smiths. Master Zhou, Zheng Wu was crowned winner of the Masters of Fire Contemporary Bladesmiths Exhibition. Master Bladesmiths from all over the world entered the exhibition. Master Zhou's replica of Emperor Wu's Han dynasty Jian was crowned winner.
